Seed Planting and April's New Moon Mourning Gathering Invitation

Inhale Together, a group session, April 27th: focussing on how to bring pleasure and other non-traditional grief tools into your processing.

Our next somatic new moon mourning & moving gathering is in a week on Sunday April 27th at 5pm eastern/2pm pacific.

But first! I planted some Butterfly Blue Pea seeds and made a video for you as I did that. Seed planting is exciting. Watch above if you want to see some seeds, soil, and compost.

When people ask me why I host these gatherings on the new moon, the answer is two fold:

  1. New moons typically have calmer energy. If you’ve ever worked in the service industry as I did- you know what I mean. When I used to serve people at restaurants and we’d be having a particularly chaotic night, one of us would realize, ‘oh shit it’s the full moon, that explains our guests messed up behavior’! Now I love full moons… and it’s great to have a party… but because -as a society- we are usually disconnected from the natural cycles and the soil- the full moon breeds inebriated chaos rather than beautiful fire dances.

  2. In times of old and today, many say, that the new moon is a great time to plant dream seeds.

My current dream is to bring more pleasure into grief “work” which is why I’m now offering these monthly gatherings in a sequence of three going forward. First we exhale together (grief gathering the way I’ve been doing it for almost 3 years,) then we inhale together (we’ll focus on how to bring pleasure and other non-traditional grief tools into the processing) and then next month we’ll mourn together (more of a shared space where I do the exercises with you the whole time and we work toward limbic resonance).

This 1 (or optional 2) hour gathering of *embodied mourning* focussing on the inhale and pleasure will include:

  • gentle somatic movements to help you invite pleasure into the grief portal

  • simple breathing and reconnecting with your body through a body scan

  • and an optional sharing circle for the second hour where you can share about personal or collective grief and how you are feeling in this season and time, (you can bounce before we start this or you can stay and not speak but simply share your presence and listen).
